Launched in June 2004, ActBlue created and deployed the next generation of online fundraising technology, and has raised over $44 million for more than 2550 Democratic candidates and committees. In 2006 ActBlue helped channel the rising tide of grassroots commitment and energy to re-establish Democratic power in Congress. In 2007-08 we will scale to raise $100 million, expand our scope beyond raising funds to include recruiting volunteers, and reshape the state legislative landscape for the 2010 redistricting.

ActBlue is a political committee that enables anyone — individuals, local groups, and national organizations — to fundraise online for the Democratic candidates of their choice. Previously, only the most well-funded and technologically-savvy groups have employed these powerful fundraising methods. But with ActBlue, you need only choose your candidates and make your ask. By providing all the technical, financial, and compliance systems, ActBlue enables every progressive campaign, organization and individual to make the most of their networks — rapidly raising otherwise untapped millions for Democrats in the closest races.

2007-08 Targets

  • Bring in $100 million from one million donors in funding for Democratic candidates by engaging thousands of campaigns and activists around the country in 2007-08.
  • Tackle regulatory and legislative obstacles so we can support state legislative and executive candidates in the remaining 26 states where ActBlue is not yet active.
  • Expand beyond fundraising to volunteer recruitment, transforming field operations just as we have transformed fundraising.
