Thank you for being part of The Air America Campaign and donating over $200,000 to Take Back Congress.
THERE IS STILL TIME TO HELP THESE CANDIDATES LOCKED IN VERY TIGHT RACES. We are raising money THROUGH election day!
EVERY DOLLAR YOU SEND GOES DIRECTLY INTO THEIR CAMPAIGN TO BUY TV ADS, RADIO ADS AND TO GET OUT THE VOTE! Nothing is taken out.
And, in addition to sending some last minute funds to these worthy candidates on the front lines of our fight to restore Checks & Balances, please go to www.AIRAMERICARADIO.COM/tbc (for Take Back Congress) and SEND THAT PAGE to everyone you know in the key Senate states and House districts. It shows The 50 Reasons to Elect A Democratic Congress and has the :60 Second Informational Radio Spots that have run during the campaign – spots read by Bobby Kennedy, Jr., Kathleen Turner, Peter Coyote, Amb. Joseph Wilson, Mimi Kennedy, Mike Papantonio and others. You can listen to all of them.
To me, Richard, THE most important Reasons are:
1. The chance to get out of Iraq before the end of the Bush term, January, 2009
2. The chance to have Harry Reid and NOT Mitch McConnell be The Majority Leader. McConnell is WORSE than Bill Frist – he is a total Bush supporter, a mean-spirited partisan and the leader AGAINST paper trails for voting machines, AGAINST the McCain-Feingold and other campaign finance reform and FOR “Staying the Course” in Iraq.
3. The SUPREME COURT. We forget that Justice John Paul Stevens is 86. If we lose Stevens or Ginsberg or Souter or Bryer or Kennedy and Bush has a Republican Senate, we WILL lose a Woman’s Right to Choose and will have a Far Right Supreme Court for DECADES. DECADES!!
4. Checks & Balances. The Founders were very wise. They knew that good government is impossible when ALL functiions are controlled by one party. The corruption that has flowed bountifully from the Absolute Power these past 6 years is proof enough. We can, we must stop that on Tuesday.
So, BASED ON CONSTANT CONSULTATION WITH LEADERS IN THE PARTY, HERE ARE THE TIGHTEST RACES IN THE COUNTRY FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
Please pick one or more candidates, put $10 or more on your credit card and make a difference. In these last few days of the campaign, an extra mailing, an extra radio spot, an extra t.v. spot CAN make the difference in these VERY close races. And that takes money. We’re going to have to live with what happens on November 7 for two years. Let’s make it two years where our country, finally, has the Checks & Balances the Constitution calls for and serious oversight on the actions of George W. Bush.
This page is part of the “Take Back The Congress” Campaign running daily on Air America Radio and is co-sponsored by The People For The American Way Voter’s Alliance.
Thank you.

This is the race that Michael J. Fox was talking about and this is the candidate. If you are interested in Stem Cell Research . . . and in Taking Back The Senate, this race is critical. Claire is a champion for Stem Cell Research – her opponent, incumbent Jim Talent, voted against it in the Senate. This is a VERY close race. A little bit of money WILL make a difference.

What if we beat Sen. George Allen, a man who was a strong contender for the ‘08 Republican nomination?!! Allen and Jim Webb are now neck and neck. Money is critical right now and this man is worthy of it. Awarded the Navy Cross, the Silver Star Medal, two Bronze Star Medals, and two Purple Hearts he wears his son’s Iraqi war boots and will help us get out soon!

This is THE “David and Goliath” Story of the 2006 Elections. Incumbent Congressman Tom Feeney (The #3 most corrupt politician in the country according to CREW) is spending $2.5MILLION against $60,000 from Clint, a former Republican who has testified in Congress that Feeney asked him to create software to rig elections in Florida. Curtis took and passed a lie detector test. Feeney refuses.
Despite the HUGE difference in money, theZogby Poll shows Feeney and Curtis is a statistical dead heat. Clint is trying to come up with an extra $5,000 to buy even ONE broadcast network television spot. Your money goes a REALLY long way here. Check this race out – this is what we are fighting against . . . and for!

Remember Jean Schmidt, the first term Congresswoman who called Jack Murtha a “coward”? It was so appalling that her own Republican colleagues reprimanded her. Well, she’s locked in a tight race with Dr. Victoria Wulsin. This is a winnable seat. She just needs money!

An open seat and a virtual tie in the polls. Kagen, voted One of The Best Doctors in America, wants to come to Congress to implement his “No Patient Left Behind” legislation and help reform America’s system of health care. This is a race where even a small amount of money now will allow us to add a seat in Congress!!

Washington magazine named J. D. Haywoth one of the 3 worst windbags in 2004. His outbursts on gay marriage and immigration are legendary. Harry Mitchell is a champion of public education and has the support to win in this toss-up race. Investment here could bring a victory

Yes, Linc Chaffee is a nice guy and a moderate Republican, but he will not help us take control of the Senate. He will vote for Mitch McConnell, not Harry Reid, as Majority Leader. We need Sheldon Whitehouse, Rhode Island’s Attorney General, to take the Senate and this race is, unfortunately, getting closer. How nice it will be to have a Whitehouse in Washington to be proud of!

This former CIA Agent is smart, classy and poised to generate an upset against a member of the Republican Leadership. With no support from the DCCC he fought on,, had a big front page article in the NY Times and is now considered to have a real chance. . . . by the DCCC. He gets it about Iraq, about the middle class issues and would be a fabulous Congressman.
