2006 was a watershed election in Minnesota. Riding a national tilde wave, Minnesota picked up a Congressional seat from an entrenched Republican incumbent, held onto Mark Dayton’s Senate seat, elected the 1st ever Muslim to Congress and won back the Minnesota House, electing the 2nd female Speaker of the House in Minnesota history. In addition, we took 3 of 4 constitutional races, putting Democrats in the divers seat in what republicans were calling a “purple state.”

Despite these strides, the job is not done…

In 2008, Minnesota will again be on the front line:

  • Republican Norm Coleman, who currently holds Paul Wellstone’s seat is on the ropes. The Minnesota DFL (Democratic) Party is posed to field an impressive candidate to take back this seat.

  • Rep. Tim Walz, who won a stunning upset in MN-1 is under attack by the Republican establishment. We can’t allow this seat to fall back into Republican hands.

  • In MN-3, Republican Jim Ramstad is retiring. This seat, which has been trending Democratic over the last 7 years, is one of the best chances nationally for Democrats to pick up a seat in Congress.

  • Right-Wing fanatic Michelle Bachmann in MN-6 is an embarrassment to Minnesota. Now is the time to stop her fanatical agenda, and take back the seat for the people of the 6th.

In a last ditch effort to take control of Minnesota—home of Paul Wellstone, Hubert Humphrey, and Walter Mondale – Republicans are coming to Minneapolis/St Paul for their 2008 National Convention.

Your donation today to the Minnesota DFL Party, Tim Walz and the candidates for these critical seats in important more then ever. Please donate today!!!
