Martin Heinrich is the real deal.

The first time I met him, Martin Heinrich pulled up to my house in a hardworn old pick-up truck to answer my questions about his plans for Albuquerque’s future.

That was four years ago.

Since then, I’ve witnessed him prevail with technical fluency over water planning debates and development charettes. I’ve watched him lead tricky statewide negotiations with successful results for both conservationists and hunters alike. I’ve seen him, against the odds, raise the minimum wage for working folks in New Mexico.
I’ve seen Martin Heinrich listen. Actually LISTEN to the people he represents. How’s that for a novel idea?
