Jeff Merkley is an incredible Democrat running for U.S. Senate. He’s someone that I’ve been working long hours and sacrificing a lot for. Hundreds of hours. Thousands of hours. A lot of time.
And believe me, he’s worth it. Not much else will sustain you at 3 a.m.
I’ve pushed myself, strained relationships, learned new skills, and put myself in unfamiliar, exciting, and nerve-wracking situations on behalf of someone who’s candidacy that I truly believe in. Again, I’d have to truly feel that way, that what I am doing is the right thing, because I’m sure not raking in the money.
But that’s something that I want to do. Not because I need money for toys, but because WE need more money. Our Republican opponent has a $5 million war chest. That’s huge.
I’ve avoided asking family members for money, believing that my blood, sweat, and tears was enough. I thought that as far as the Ingraham-Howard bloodlines were concerned, I had you guys covered.
But here I am, at the 11th hour of the financial quarter, and I find that want to do a little bit more. Push our numbers a little higher.
So I hope that you will be able to help with a donation. Because when we have a Democratic president, he or she will need a democratically controlled Senate. One that’s filibuster proof, which means we need 60 Democrats.
