The final days are here! These are the final days to contribute to the election of a progressive majority in Congress. With hard work and financial generosity, these will also be the final days of unquestioning, rubber-stamp Congressional accquiescence to the Bush administration’s cynical and manipulative campaign against personal freedoms and a foreign policy rooted in ideas rather than ideology.
In these final days, I am asking each of you to give at least $20 toward a Democratic majority in Congress before November, 1. Although the election is not until Nov. 7, these are the last days in which your donation can make a difference, as candidates cannot turn last-minute donations into ads or direct mail. So please give now.
Over the last weeks and months, the facts have finally caught up with the Bush cabal and its congressional enablers. However, the exposure of Republicans’ practical, legal, and moral hypocrisy has also engendered complacency among too many Democrats. The current political climate is undoubtedly pro-Democratic and anti-Republican. However, this is not an excuse to for inaction. Rather, it is a mandate. A mandate to vote, to volunteeer and to give. With our action, we can seize a once-in-a-lifetime chance to elect long-term majorities in both houses, make President Bush a lame duck, and transform the nation’s politics.

House Republicans have graduated from taking bribes and screwing tax payers to sending solicitious IMs and screwing … well, you know.
At least 40-50 Republican seats are in play this year. Help the Democrats compete in all of those races. The difference between a 5 seat majority and a 25 seat majority is huge. Please give.

Charismatic, articulate, and a great campaigner, Ford is showing how Democrats can win in Bill Frist’s backyard. Maybe that’s why the RNC has declared this race part of their “firewall” against a Democratic majority. Let’s break down that firewall.

For too long, we have searched for a credible and tough Democrat willing to decry the fringe foreign policy of the Bush administration. Jim Webb is that Democrat. A combat veteran and former secretary of the Navy, Jim Webb exudes authority. And from the beginning, he has used that authority to tell a simple truth —that the Iraq war is the strategic disaster of our time and that it’s past time to redeploy our troops.
