Dear Friends,
It's almost Christmas, and we were planning to throw you all a Christmas party in Trenton this year, with a roaring fire and plenty of rum to keep out the cold, but the British and their Hessian allies occupied the city before we could finish planning. So before they drink all our rum and eat our Christmas goose, help us buy the supplies we need to cross the river and throw those Hessians out!
Now, I know George very well, and I know how much it would mean to him to see Americans standing up to throw off the shackles of those imperious Brits and their Hessian allies, so please join us on Christmas day!
Where: McKonkey's Ferry, Pennsylvania
When: December 25, 3PM
Special Guests:
If you can't attend, read the words of Thomas Paine, who recently published a pamphlet endorsing our cause and give what you can:
These are times that try men's souls; the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.UPDATE--WE DID IT!
