Please support Chris Carney. “Who is Chris Carney?” you might ask. Chris is the Democrat running for Congress in the 10th District of Pennsylvania. There are a few reasons that we’re really excited about Chris’s candidacy and his part in the Democratic takeover of the House.
First, Chris has the background to stand up to the Republicans. He had a career in the Navy and is an expert in Middle East politics and intelligence. The administration sought his opinion before the Iraq war, so it will be difficult to dismiss what he says now—we should leave as expeditiously as possible.
Second, Deb’s father and Chris worked together as professors at Penn State. Deb’s dad always speaks highly of Chris and even made a point of going to his public lectures. It would be nice to have more smart people in Congress.
Finally, you may have heard of his opponent, Don Sherwood. He made news here in DC when he was accused of choking his mistress (who he eventually paid off in a multi million dollar settlement). Men who abuse their girlfriends, especially while they mouth “family values” crap, have no place in Congress.
