Believe it or not, the dirty trick is back from the dead.

And now we need your help. Can you contribute $20, $50, or $100 or more to save 20 electoral college votes today?

That’s right. The Los Angeles Times reports that a right-wing cabal of out-of-state Republican donors and consultants is reviving the “Electoral College Reform Initiative”—a craven right-wing power grab to steal 20 electoral college votes and the White House in 2008.

A scathing editorial by the New York Times called this ballot initiative an “elaborate dirty trick” designed by a “shadowy group” to “do serious damage to our democracy.”

Enough. No more dirty tricks. Not in California. Not in America.

You are on the ground floor of a new movement in California—a movement led by the Courage Campaign to synergize the netroots with the grassroots to realize a progressive vision for California. Together, we can build sustainable progressive infrastructure so that we can go on offense instead of defense.

One way we’re building netroots infrastructure is by using and supporting ActBlue, the online community tool that empowers anyone — individuals, local groups, and national organizations — to fundraise online for progressive candidates and causes.
