Labor Day Solidarity Giveback

Wow, 2020 has not turned out as we expected! Normally, we would have been in our final stages of planning for our 8th Annual Labor Day Parade & Celebration. Out of respect for our members’ health and welfare, we have canceled our plans for the Parade & Celebration

However, we still want to honor the contributions of labor and working people over this holiday weekend. What better way to do so than to help our brothers, sisters, and siblings who are laid off or suffering during these hard times? In a true show of solidarity, our Labor Day Planning Committee has decided to collect sponsorships and donations to give grocery cards to our fellow union members and neighbors. Therefore, we ask the following two things of you:

  1. Help us publicize the Labor Day Community Giveback amongst your members. While we are prioritizing our help to our fellow union members, no one will be turned away.

<<LOCATION NEEDED>>>

  1. Donate generously so that no one leaves empty-handed. We will not have levels of sponsorship this year. Every donation counts and will go directly to those in need, no matter how big or small. However, the union with the largest donation this year will receive the Eddie Bryan Plaque for Giving Back.

You may make donations by check payable to the Central Labor Council with “Labor Day 2020” in the memo line and mail to PO Box 290153, Nashville, TN 37229, or  you may make a contribution online here: actblue.com/donate/ld20. All donations should be received by ___________. All names of donors and sponsors will be displayed online and at the event.

We thank you in advance for helping out our community during this turbulent and troubling year. We know that when we can’t count on our bosses or our companies or our politicians or our government to help keep us safe, healthy, and economically secure, we can always count on the solidarity of our union family to get us through.
